What are stock photos (shock photography)?
There are two major types of online photography that you can sell. They are basically stock photography and assignment photography. In assignment photography, a photographer is assigned the duty and responsibility of taking photos of certain objects or events and they are paid. Stock photography refers to the process whereby the photographer takes photos which are not sold at that time.
By definition, stock photos refer to the photographs which can be licensed, sold and purchased for commercial as well as public needs. It can be used for designing, advertising as well as marketing.
Because most big companies use stock photos they are usually in high demand.
